It’s almost like someone decided that men can either be sensitive, or masculine. And the rest of the world just went along with it. I’ve never understood that. From the time we are boys we’re taught not to cry, not to get scared. We are pummeled with this image of the “lone ranger” tough guy, who takes on the world without emotion.
But that’s not tough,.
Looking your girlfriend in the eyes and admitting you’re faults, your insecurities. That’s tough.
Making a commitment to someone and honoring it, that’s tough.
Picking up a box of tampons at 3 am, that’s masculine.
Saying that you’re sorry.
Respecting women.
That’s the measure of a man’s strength.
We need to teach our boys to be real men.
Instead of raising them with lies and then condemning their behavior.
Brilliantly honest and inspiring.
Thought I would treat myself a little.
